The Heritage guardians – Custodi dell’Arte
Custodi dell’Arte, the Heritage Guardians, is a project created by the Culture and Tourism Division of Formula Servizi that was borne from the awareness, as Italian citizens, of being the custodians of a cultural heritage that has no equal in the world.

An unprecedented point of view that, through personal and collective stories, creates meaningful links between places and people, present and past.
Our narrated pathway allows places around town to transform into spaces for meeting and sharing, an opportunity for original stories to be intertwined with the beauty of the area, a chance to impart knowledge and create a completely new viewpoint to everyone, from the citizens of the locality to the tourists that come from near or far. Our Heritage Guardians, become our witnesses of the link between the location and the community that takes care of it.
A unique working group of professionals
in every location.
Our team has been established by the managers of the Culture and Tourism Division of Formula Servizi, Silvia Brecciaroli and Paola Cimatti, by two specialist narrators and by our dedicated technical staff, who have selected and assisted the participants in writing their stories as well as all the pre and post production of the audio recordings.
The Heritage Guardians Project:
- enhancing a cultural and tourist initiative available to both citizens and tourists in a new exciting and different way to discover a locality
- Though an encounter with local heritage, the route creates a new path of knowledge and emotions, allowing participatants to understand the feelings and stories from the perspective of the narrator
- Creates a cultural experience for sharing due to its unprecedented and personal interpretations
- Allows the participants of the route (whether local citizens, or tourists from near or far) to encounter an experience allowing them to broaden their minds combining precious stories, intangible heritage and the skill of the narrators who intertwine these together
Accessible and free
The Heritage Guardians tour, a narrated walking journey within a locality, is available to everyone free of charge and can be enjoyed individually or in groups and at any time of the day. The tour is also accessible for disabled participants.

An Ecological approach
Follow the tour by stopping off at dedicated listening points, clearly marked with a sign bearing the Custodi dell’Arte logo and a QR Code (which activates the audio narrtion).
There are 14 recordings with approximately 60 minutes of narration plus the time taken to move between each listening point. The tour is suitable for all ages
Multilingual narration
Audio recordings can be downloaded and listened to via a smartphone, tablet or other mobile device and are available in Italian (with the voices of the original storytellers) and also in English and German.
The map, showing the 14 dedicated listening points, can be downloaded from the Custodi dell’Arte website. Hardcopies can be found free of charge in the main tourist information points in the city.
The written stories can also be downloaded from the site free of charge.
